The paper template is available here.
The ARTS ECR 2015 Conference is organised as part of the COST Action project ARTS, Autonomic
Road Transport Support systems.
This is an opportunity for Early Career Researchers (PhD students and Post-doc/researcher up to
8 years since their first research appointment or PhD award), with an interest in the Autonomic Road Transport area, to
produce an original piece of scientific work within the full area range of ARTS and present it to
an audience of peers and experts in this field.
The selection process will be based on the quality and originality of the research and its
relevance and contribution of the ARTS topic; each paper will receive at least two detailed
reviews from experts. Papers with co-authorship or contribution from industrial partners are
encouraged in order to maximise the chance of applicability of the ARTS concepts and
transferability of knowledge.
Due to the limited number of funds to reimburse participants, only one ECR for each paper may
be invited to attend and present at the conference.
The Conference will be organised in plenary sessions and published as conference proceedings in
the ARTS website, however it is intention of the Organising Committee to propose a selection of
the papers accepted and presented for a Special Issue in an international open access journal.
Topic areas We solicit scientific papers in the area of Road Transportation Support Systems which display
autonomic properties, and in particular in the following, or closely allied, areas:
- major technological challenges of ARTS
- demonstration systems that display the potential benefits of ARTS
- platforms and methods for engineering ARTS systems
- abstract models for ARTS development and analysis
- analyses of existing ITS systems which display autonomic properties
- the scope, nature and potential pay-off of ARTS
- potential application of ARTS to sustainability and environmental goals
- potential application of ARTS in multi-modal transportation, road safety and traffic management
- classifications of the potential application scope of ARTS
- the major socio-technological challenges of ARTS
- likely human interfaces to ARTS
- behavioural changed induced by ARTS.
